About the role
Savage Services is seeking a full-time mechanic to understand, implement, and continually follow the Savage Maintenance program for all mobile equipment and material handling systems at the Huntington and Wellington operations. The goal is to maintain all equipment and systems to operate at peak efficiency and the safest level.
Responsibilities
- Safely perform routine services and diagnose problems
- Order and maintain inventories
- Coordinate and schedule services and appropriate record keeping
- Change/adjust brakes, oil filters, and wheel bearings; change/mount tires; grease CMVs; check/fill gear boxes; change springs; clutch adjustment/replacement
- Understand and repair air brake systems and steering components
- Steam/clean trailers and repair as needed
- Abide by all DOT regulations and track all paperwork
Requirements
- Formal education in diesel mechanics or equivalent verified work experience
- 2-5 years of applicable experience preferred
- Experience with air brake systems
- Knowledge of DOT regulations
- Must have own set of tools
- Willing to live and/or relocate to the Price, UT area
- Ability to navigate facilities with exposure to harsh weather conditions, uneven ground, ladders, racks, and other high places
- Ability to work safely in an industrial setting and ensure compliance with strict OSHA and State regulations
- Willing to work nights and weekends

Pay
$24 to $36 per hour, depending on experience.
