About the role

The Maintenance Mechanic maintains, troubleshoots, fixes, and improves equipment used in plastics and metals operations. This role ensures good housekeeping in assigned areas and compliance with all company policies and safety rules across any shift.

Responsibilities

• Execute preventative maintenance according to the schedule to minimize equipment downtime.
• Complete reactive maintenance on production lines to recover from equipment failures by repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Use troubleshooting skills to identify and implement equipment improvements.
• Perform machine tear-down, repair, and assembly.
• Collaborate with team members and operators to meet daily production schedules.
• Conduct equipment inspections and verify proper working conditions.
• Safely operate a forklift.
• Complete other job-related duties and special projects as assigned.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience with mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems (electrical skills are a plus).
• Minimum of 3 years of maintenance experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Experience in Structural Foam, Blow Molding, or Injection Molding.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Understanding of and ability to follow all departmental safety rules and Safety Data Sheets (SDS) relevant to the position.

Qualifications

• Effective communication skills and strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to climb, pull, push, bend, stoop, kneel, and lift.
• Willingness to wear proper personal protective equipment (e.g., safety glasses, steel-toe boots, high-visibility uniform).
• Good vision (corrected or uncorrected), including central and peripheral vision, to detect objects or movement.
• Capacity to work overtime as needed.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

• Physical Demands: Standing, sitting, walking, speaking, and hearing (up to continuously); bending, stooping, twisting neck and torso (frequently); reaching, holding, grasping, pushing, pulling, and lifting/carrying up to 50 pounds (frequently).
• Working Conditions: Work indoors and outdoors; exposure to seasonal temperatures.

Pay

$22–$34 per hour.
