Job Type: Full-Time / On-Site As a Maintenance Mechanic, you’ll be responsible for the inspection, evaluation, and repair of all processing and utility equipment in the plant. You’ll work on equipment that includes, but is not limited to piping, valves, pumps, compressors, reactors and pressure vessels, boilers, low pressure storage tanks, agitators, and materials handling equipment. How You’ll Make An Impact Safely performs preventive and predictive maintenance and repair of all industrial equipment associated with the operation of the facility and production of chemicalsLeads and assists in equipment troubleshooting for mechanical and electrical equipmentLeads and assists in the fabrication, construction, installation, and modification of new, existing and customized equipment throughout the facilityPerforms soldering and brazing for plumbing and copper piping applicationsPerforms general carpentry and metal fabrication work with a variety of materialsPerforms equipment lubrication tasks with oils, greases, filters, pumps, and other advanced tools (ultrasonic tool)Performs basic facility maintenance tasks including cleaning, sweeping, and occasional snow removal and saltingOperates or works with forklifts and other heavy equipment (telehandler, boom truck or crane, skid steer, etc.) Performs all work in compliance with all health, safety and environmental policies and procedures, including confined space entry, hot work, equipment lockout, trailer entry, emergency, etc.Performs other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications That Enable Your Success High school diploma or GED3+ years of welding experienceExcellent math, reading, comprehension and problem-solving skills.Basic computer skills and knowledge of data entryValid driver’s licenseAbility to work safely, independently and on a teamMust be willing to work overtime including weekends, holidays and call-insMust be medically certified to wear a negative-pressure respirator and other PPE as required Preferred Qualifications That Drive You Forward Experience working in a chemical plant3+ years' skilled industrial maintenance experienceAssociate’s degree or certificate in Industrial Maintenance and/or Engineering Technology programs (or similar)Experience with SAPPerforms welding for mechanical equipment, structural and piping applications, including SMAW (Stick), MIG, and TIG methods; equipment metallurgies will include carbon steel, stainless steels, and aluminum.Experience with air-operated diaphragm, centrifugal, positive displacement, and other pumpsExperience with mechanical seals and seal pots for rotating equipmentExperience with predictive maintenance (ultrasound, IR thermography, oil analysis, or vibration)Experience with basic electrical / electronic controls and instrumentationFamiliarity with ISO procedures, plumbing, millwriting, rigging, rotating/stationary equipment repair, metal fabrication, insulating, and reading prints/diagrams a plus. Working Conditions Must be able to work outdoors in inclement weather.Will be subjected to extended periods of climbing ladders and stairways, sitting, kneeling, walking, standing, bending, stooping, carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching, moving and lifting up to 55 pounds.
