About the role

Eaton’s ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking a Maintenance Mechanic A - 3rd Shift at our Nacogdoches, TX facility. The core hours are Sunday-Thursday, 10:00 p.m. - 6:30 a.m. Overtime may exceed these hours and be mandatory at times.

Responsibilities

  • Identify the cause and complete the repair of unexpected breakdowns.
  • Troubleshoot electrical/electronic, hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical and building components on industrial equipment plant wide and have basic knowledge of PLC’s and controls.
  • Perform preventative maintenance inspections and service on machines.
  • Fabricate new and/or replacement metal parts for equipment.
  • Prepares reports documenting work performed.
  • Cleans, organizes, inventories, stocks, and otherwise maintains shop areas, parts, tools, and supplies.
  • Oversee and enforce lockout/tagout (LOTO) protocols to guarantee the safe deactivation and isolation of equipment, ensuring energy control procedures are correctly applied to prevent inadvertent machine startup or hazardous energy discharge during repair or maintenance, in line with OSHA regulations and organizational safety guidelines.
  • Safely operates overhead cranes and hoisting equipment to move materials, components, and finished products within the manufacturing facility.
  • Actively participates in problem-solving processes, contributing to efficiency, quality, and continuous improvement within the organization.
  • Adhere to safety protocols, ensures efficient material handling, housekeeping practices (5S+), and company policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Must have a High School diploma or GED (General Education Degree) from an accredited institution.
  • Must have a minimum of three (3) years of relevant, job-specific experience.
  • Associate degree or College degree in related field of study is preferred.
  • Ability to demonstrate effective communication, attention to detail, adaptability, a positive work ethic, comprehends verbal and written work instructions accurately, and upholds Eaton’s values and philosophy.
  • Proficient in using a multi-meter.
  • Must understand fundamentals of electricity, plumbing, pneumatic systems and hydraulics.
  • Experience in Electro-mechanical work, variable frequency drives, welding, pneumatic controls, Inventory management, Air Compressors, Predictive Maintenance and Conveyor systems.
  • Understanding of servo motors, encoders, drivers, PLC’s and controls.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. and perform physical tasks such as bending, twisting, grabbing, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, and using both hands to lift and lower materials, with or without accommodations.
  • Adhere to proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) when on the floor (safety glasses, safety shoes, ear plugs, FR shirts, and others based on the department you're in).
  • Work efficiently in hot environments and tolerate loud noises.
