Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on the facility’s conveyor system using industry-accepted procedures, plans and manuals
- Conduct maintenance and troubleshoot basic electrical and mechanical problems related to all material-handling equipment and components
- Maintain and troubleshoot when required all motors, photo eyes, relays, proximity sensors, solenoids, motor starters, etc.
- Maintain and repair as needed the facility’s material handling, racking and shelving
- Perform routine maintenance on the facility infrastructure
- Maintain dock levelers and overhead doors
- Ensure forklift batteries have appropriate water levels and are charged timely and correctly
- Assist and support in janitorial duties as required
- Demonstrate an awareness and compliance with Loss and Prevention and Safety policies and procedures
Qualifications
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a warehouse environment or equivalent combination of training, education and experience
- Forklift-certified or willingness to acquire certification. Knowledge of forklift repair and troubleshooting a plus
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools effectively
- Able to work in conditions that may include small spaces, dust, fumes/odors, hot/cold temperatures, inside/outside, noise, vibration, standing on concrete for long hours and wet or uneven surfaces
- Able to work at elevated heights
- Able to work at least some overtime, including weekends and off-shift hours
- Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects
