Maintenance Worker

What You’ll Do

• Perform a variety of maintenance and repair tasks across multiple Salvation Army properties, including:
• Facilities & Grounds Maintenance
• General repairs involving basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and HVAC support
• Maintain floors (buffing, cleaning, and general upkeep)
• Conduct groundskeeping, mowing, landscaping, and snow removal
• Assist with room setups and teardowns for operations and program needs (fixtures, displays, furniture, etc.)
• General Support
• Afford assistance with moving furniture, boxes, store fixtures, and donated materials
• Accompany vendors/contractors as needed
• Drive a Salvation Army vehicle to pick up supplies or deliver items
• Perform additional maintenance tasks as needed based on daily priorities

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least 1 year of maintenance experience
• Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, lawn equipment, snow blowers, carpet cleaners, and buffers
• Basic electrical and painting skills
• Must be able to obtain/maintain a clear MVR and have a valid driver’s license

Physical Requirements

• Regular physical activity, including:
• Standing, walking, lifting, carrying, bending, and kneeling
• Lifting up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs occasionally
• Working in indoor and outdoor environments depending on the property

Travel

• Daily or weekly travel between local Salvation Army properties is required using agency vehicles.
