About the role
The Maintenance Manager is a participating member of the McIntosh Site Leadership Team & oversees maintenance operations with a focus on safety, reliability, efficiency, and team development.
Responsibilities
- Ensure strong Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) practices by actively engaging teams in the field, promoting personal safety, and ensuring compliance.
- Oversee contractor performance to meet Olin’s safety and operational standards.
- Ensure preventative/predictive maintenance programs are in place in conjunction with engineering and maintenance staff to assure continued plant reliability.
- Plan, develop, and implement new methods and procedures designed to improve operations, minimize operating costs, and effect greater utilization of labor and materials.
- Proactively lead the Continuous Performance Management process for Maintenance direct reports; coach and mentor to maximize their personal and collective contributions to meet business and functional objectives.
- Confer with management personnel to resolve maintenance and operating problems, and recommend measures to improve operations and conditions of machinery and equipment.
- Provide direct and/or indirect development and supervision to maintenance department personnel.
- Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCAs) as requested for both Maintenance and EH&S topics
- Manage and motivate staff, review and assess performance, develop and build employee skills, support their professional development, and enable employees to optimize their contribution to the department.
Requirements
- Must meet one of the following education and experience requirements:
- Bachelor's degree* in Engineering or other technical field (Engineering discipline preferred) and 5+ years of related maintenance or operations experience; OR, High school diploma or equivalent and 10+ years of related maintenance or operations experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of direct supervisory experience in daily maintenance activities, turnaround management, or operations.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement Maintenance Work Processes and operating systems in an industrial environment, including effectively working with all stakeholders while facilitating program development and championing program implementation.
- Prior Olin experience in a relevant position preferred.
Qualifications
- Must be able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) and possess a valid US driver's license.
