Maintenance Manager

About the role

This role is responsible for overseeing maintenance operations, equipment reliability, facilities management, capital projects, and continuous improvement initiatives to maximize asset performance and operational efficiency in a high-volume production facility. Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, the Maintenance Manager will build and develop a high-performing maintenance organization while driving safety, reliability, cost control, and equipment uptime across the facility.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all maintenance operations, including mechanical, electrical, facilities, and infrastructure maintenance.
  • Develop and execute maintenance and reliability strategies that improve equipment performance, reduce downtime, and extend asset life.
  • Plan, prioritize, and coordinate repair, maintenance, and installation activities to support production goals.
  • Promote a strong safety culture through compliance with lockout/tagout, electrical safety, and other plant safety initiatives.
  • Establish and monitor maintenance performance metrics and drive continuous improvement efforts.
  • Manage maintenance budgets, storeroom operations, and maintenance-related spending.
  • Support capital planning and oversee equipment upgrades, facility improvements, and major project execution.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, operating permits, and company standards.
  • Direct facility maintenance, repairs, renovations, and infrastructure improvement projects.
  • Partner with operations, engineering, quality, and other functional teams to improve plant performance and reliability.
  • Analyze maintenance and production data to identify opportunities for increased efficiency and equipment reliability.
  • Develop and lead maintenance personnel through coaching, performance management, and employee development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related technical field preferred.
  • 7+ years of maintenance leadership experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience leading maintenance teams and driving results through others.
  • Strong background in equipment reliability, preventive maintenance, and manufacturing operations.
  • Knowledge of PLCs, automation systems, and high-speed manufacturing equipment.
  • Demonstrated project management experience, including capital projects and facility upgrades.
  • Understanding of industrial electrical, mechanical, and maintenance systems.
  • Experience with SAP, CMMS, and other maintenance management systems preferred.
  • Budget management and cost control experience.
  • Knowledge of construction practices, facility systems, building codes, and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.

Work Environment

  • Combination of office and manufacturing floor responsibilities.
  • Regular exposure to industrial production environments, including moving equipment, varying temperatures, and elevated noise levels.
  • Ability to walk production areas, climb stairs or ladders, and occasionally lift materials as required.
