Maintenance Lead - New London

Job Summary

A non-supervisory role to assist and provide effective communications for the maintenance team, reporting to the Maintenance Manager.

Primary Duties And Responsibilities

  • Ensuring safety and maintaining a safe work environment for all employees
  • Facilitates maintenance work requests from the production floor, determining priority and ensuring coworkers are aware of priority and assignments
  • Ensures team members comply with all safety and Good Manufacturing Practices
  • Communicates to production, maintenance management, and quality assurance about equipment breakdowns and estimated time needed to complete repairs
  • Convenes with vendors, management, engineering, and quality control personnel to resolve maintenance problems and recommend measures to improve operations and conditions of machines and equipment
  • Conducts meetings at the end of each shift to update incoming maintenance personnel on the status of breakdowns, repairs, and troubleshooting done during the previous shift
  • Conducts meetings at the start of each shift to go over shift priorities and assignments as well as training
  • Participates actively in preventive/predictive maintenance processes
  • Tests and adjusts equipment to meet performance specifications
  • Initiates purchase orders for parts and machines
  • Leads inventory control
  • Assists in the development, implementation, and evaluation of maintenance policies and procedures
  • This is a hands-on position, carrying out maintenance work alongside the team and setting a high example in your work
  • Other duties may be assigned

Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

  • Tools, materials, methods, and practices used in mechanical maintenance related to production equipment
  • PLC experience a plus
  • Operation of power and manual tools
  • Operation of light and heavy equipment
  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts in a continuous manufacturing operation

Education/Experience

  • Requires a high school diploma/GED and completion of a craft apprenticeship or craft training program
  • 2-5 years’ experience in a mechanical maintenance function
  • 2-5 years’ previous industrial/manufacturing experience
  • 2-5 years’ electrical control’s experience
  • 1-2 years previous leadership experience (small team)
  • Light Microsoft Office Suite experience

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift and move objects up to 75 pounds consistently with heavier weight necessary at times
  • Exposure to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and vibration
  • Noisy environment with moderate noise levels

Additional Information

Hiring Pay Range: $34.00 USD - $44.00 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location.
