MAINTENANCE - INSTRUMENTATION J1

About the role

This is a journeyman-level instrumentation technician position at Sylvamo.

Responsibilities

• Complete scheduled maintenance, preventive maintenance and break-in work
• Perform troubleshooting equipment through the DCS systems, single loop controls, data acquisition and camera systems
• Install, calibrate, maintain electronic and pneumatic field instruments for flow, level, temperature, vibration, hydraulic and analytical systems
• Repair, calibration of final control elements such as control valves, pneumatic and electronic positioners
• Knowledge of various test equipment for calibration, preventive maintenance and the ability to read loop sheets, P&IDs and electrical schematics

Requirements

• Minimum High School graduate or GED equivalent
• 1 year vocational/technical education in the Instrumentation Discipline
• Industrial technology degree
• Certificate from accredited college or trade school
• Willing and capable of working all shifts

• Desire to work in manufacturing setting and experience working in an industrial environment
• Knowledge of control and instrument theory, calibration, installation and valves
• Strong math/physics understanding
• Highly motivated, results-driven individual who can also perform well in a team setting

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Hourly pay rate is $37.01, as of June 1, 2026.
