MAINTENANCE - INSTRUMENTATION ASSOCIATE

About the role

At Sylvamo, you’ll help sustain forests and renew ecosystems while delivering paper for education, communication, and entertainment. This entry‑level Maintenance – Instrumentation Associate position offers a pathway to grow within the company.

Pay

Hourly rate: $35.89 per hour (effective June 1 2026).

Schedule

• Work any shift, including rotating schedules.
• Overtime required on a regular basis, often with short‑notice.
• Availability for after‑hours calls and on‑call duty.
• Work holidays and weekends as needed.

Requirements

• Minimum high school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Either:
  • 1 year of experience in Instrumentation maintenance, or
  • 1 year of vocational/technical education in the Mechanical Discipline – Instrumentation.
• Willingness to work all shifts and overtime.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Undergo a drug screen and submit to periodic drug testing.
• Wear required safety equipment and operate in industrial conditions (heat, dust, hazardous chemicals, noise, heavy machinery, elevated surfaces) with proper safety training.
• Acquire a complete set of tools for the assigned work.
• Pass an online computer test and a formal interview.

Preferred Qualifications

• Relevant work experience in an industrial environment.
• Strong understanding of math and physics.
• Instrumentation background on the mechanical side.
