About the role
Position: Full-Time Maintenance Assistant. Full Time, Day Shift.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot building mechanical problems effectively.
- Perform repairs and conduct scheduled preventative maintenance on equipment to ensure satisfactory operations.
- Apply technical knowledge of electrical systems, as well as heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems.
- Maintain Safety: Follow all established safety rules, policies, and procedures of the maintenance department.
- Collaborate: Complete other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Director and Administrator.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Basic computer skills.
- Previous experience in a long-term care (LTC) setting is preferred but not required.
- Experience performing basic building repairs and maintenance, including plumbing, carpentry, and painting.
- Completion of a maintenance apprenticeship is preferred.
- Strong troubleshooting, organizational, and time management skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and respond to maintenance needs in a timely manner.
