Maintenance Instructor II
About the role
The Maintenance Instructor is responsible to develop and conduct courses as required by this manual and the Maintenance Training Manual.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver training courses to CommutAir employees and contract employees
- Develop and utilize course outlines as standard training objectives
- Design student literature, visual aids and other materials to aid student motivation and retain subject knowledge
- Recommend course content changes needed to improve student knowledge or skills
- Coordinate course schedules with department heads to comply with initial and recurrent training requirements
- Assist the Maintenance Department in identifying new training requirements to improve employee efficiency or improve aircraft reliability
- Conduct Contract Maintenance Provider or Essential Maintenance Provider training, including GMM, initial systems, and/or recurrent training
- Initiate and maintain accurate training records and documentation for each course
- Act in a supervisory capacity when performing training activities
- Perform any maintenance action on which he has been trained, qualified or authorized
- Review, maintain, and authorize all training endorsements
- Perform other tasks and duties as assigned by the Manager of Maintenance Training
Requirements and Qualifications
- Previous aviation classroom training experience (preferred)
- Strong knowledge of aircraft and powerplant systems a must
- Experience with Microsoft, Adobe and other course development software
- A&P license (preferred)
- Basic Computer Skills, especially MS Office suite
- Organized with the ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities regularly
- Ability to read, speak, and understand the English language
- Legally authorized to work in the USA
Physical Requirements
Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body, sedentary work involves sitting most of the time and walking /standing occasionally. With or without accommodation
Visual Acuity: Includes inspection, close assembly, clerical administrative; This is a minimal standard for use with those whose work deals largely with preparing and analyzing data and figures, accounting, computer, extensive reading.
Environmental Conditions: Inside environmental conditions, protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.
