Maintenance Group Leader-3rd shift
About the role
As a Maintenance Group Leader at Batesville, you will be responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating activities concerned with design, construction, modification, and maintenance of the plant's equipment and facilities, as well as analyzing and recommending changes to improve the efficiency of the plant operations.
What You'll Do
- Lead, direct, develop, and manage associates engaged in mechanical, electrical/electronic repair, and in the parts and materials area
- Resource planning including project/work order materials availability, PPE, and work permits
- Accountability for policy deployment metrics (i.e., safety, order fill rate, and lost cycles) along with root cause analysis and countermeasure recommendations
- Interaction and coordination with quality, production, and engineering to plan preventive maintenance programs/work orders and to schedule inspections and major overhauls
- Manage the computerized maintenance management system
- Review inspection and repair reports and observe progress of work on unplanned downtime and planned major overhauls to evaluate efficiency and work quality
- Review technical drawings and other reference materials to select and recommend new supplies and maintenance methods to improve plant operation
- Confer and assist contractors to resolve problems with the installation of new equipment
- Directly supervises employees in the Maintenance Team on 2nd and 3rd shifts
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Company policies, the Code of Ethical Business Conduct, and applicable laws
- Responsibilities include interviewing and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
- Other duties may be assigned
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's degree (B.A.) or equivalent from a college or university in Engineering or Maintenance; and five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Basic Microsoft Office knowledge
- Management/supervision experience with an emphasis on scheduling, safety, project completion, and lost cycles
Nice To Haves
- Ability to train, manage, lead, and/or understand LEAN or CI activities and initiatives
- Experience in a Union environment
- Experience in JD Edwards
