Maintenance Group Lead - 1st shift
Job Overview
The Maintenance Group Lead is an entry-level position for the work cell production line employees. This position is responsible for the overall KPI's and general management of the employees in the cell.
A Day In The Life
- Provide leadership to maintenance team, assist in coordinating workloads, providing support, monitoring issues, ensuring needs are met, assist with Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) tracking
- Aid in ensuring people and resources are applied in an efficient and effective manner, so that the team follows defined standard work procedures while achieving expectations.
- Reinforce and lead by example full adherence to 6S (Safety, Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) practices.
- Support work order closures and stock control transactions.
- Assist in performing root cause analysis and resolving problems, maintaining communication with management throughout the process.
- Being a committed participant in undertaking required continuous training and development, during the timeline expected and as required for the position.
- Aid management in routine performance, quality, safety, and attendance corrective actions with employees in your work cell.
- Communicate and maintain your work cell’s production metrics and information and at times communicate results to various levels of organization in both formal and informal settings.
- Maintain compliance with time and attendance policies.
- Assist in monitoring incidents, accident, and non-conformity investigations and associated reporting and action closure.
- Interface with Production Scheduling to determine schedules for shift production.
- Audit Operator PMs on cell equipment.
Required Experience and Skills
- A high school diploma or an equivalent qualification is required.
- Additional education from a technical school, especially related to maintenance fields such as HVAC, electrical, or plumbing, is preferred and can make a candidate more competitive.
- Candidates should have a minimum of three to five years of related experience in maintenance roles.
- Basic knowledge of mechanical systems, HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning), electrical systems, plumbing, and carpentry are crucial.
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in all units of measure.
- Knowledge of emergency protocols, safety procedures, and the use of personal protective equipment.
- Effective communication skills are necessary to interact with various levels within the company, from peers to management.
