POSITION SUMMARY

Aid the Maintenance Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Optical Lab. Handle maintenance and repairs of optical equipment, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Provide training to Maintenance Technicians and coordinate their tasks.

OPERATIONS

  • Ensure timely and accurate installations, maintenance, and repairs of optical equipment
  • Accurately document and maintain records of maintenance activities
  • Plan and execute preventive maintenance schedules
  • Schedule and manage coverage to minimize wait times for the Optical Lab
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the Optical Lab and its grounds
  • Report and address facility issues promptly according to procedures
  • Perform routine maintenance alongside maintenance department teammates

TRAINING AND IMPROVEMENT

  • Ensure maintenance team members receive necessary training for their roles
  • Stay updated on new equipment and parts availability
  • Attend vendor seminars for repair and preventive maintenance training
  • Engage in ongoing training to diagnose equipment-related issues
  • Provide feedback and develop performance plans for maintenance team members

MANTAIN SAFE WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Follow Optical Lab and company policies regarding safety and OSHA regulations
  • Operate machinery safely and effectively
  • Participate in stretching routines before starting work

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years of related experience in optical manufacturing, retail, or similar fields
  • Preferably 3 years of experience with optical lab equipment, manufacturing equipment maintenance, or similar field
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & WORK REQUIREMENTS

  • Communicate effectively at all organizational levels through writing and speaking
  • Read and write at a high school graduate level
  • Be able to sit or stand for long periods
  • Operate various Optical Lab equipment and office equipment
  • Perform physical tasks such as bending, climbing, twisting, squatting, lifting, pushing, reaching, etc., repetitively
  • Lift up to 75 pounds occasionally
  • Operate a pallet jack and high-reach lift (training provided)
  • See near, distance, color, and depth perception
  • Use manual and finger dexterity, hand/arm steadiness, grip, and hold items
  • Have good eye and hand coordination
  • Work in a fast-paced production environment
  • Work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Work normal and/or extended hours, including evenings, nights, and weekends
  • Occasionally travel for company objectives and personal development
