About the role
Lead General Maintenance positions are responsible for keeping machinery running to maintain continuous production. You must be able to set up, adjust and break down production line machinery.
Responsibilities
- Set up, adjust and break down production line machinery.
- Possess knowledge in areas of welding, hydraulics, basic electricity, power transmission, pneumatics and other maintenance related areas.
- Learn and use Tyson SAP software to make work orders, fill out daily documentation, perform preventative maintenance routines, and confirm time into the SAP system to record daily activities and create equipment history.
- Read and write as required, communicate with management and co-workers as needed, process paperwork necessary to position, and use math as needed to make work related computations for machinery, fluid capacities, etc.
- Lift, push, pull up to 95 lbs., climb stairs and ladders on a daily basis, work in cold environments with temperatures ranging from -10 to 55 degrees, work in wet conditions, work on slippery floors, work on concrete floors, work in noisy environments requiring hearing protection, and work on your feet for 8 to 12 hours.
- Complete all required training for the job.
- Operate PIT if possible, or willing to learn to operate PIT.
- Have electrical experience preferred.
Requirements
- At least 6 continuous months of mechanical/maintenance work experience within the last 24 months, preferably industrial maintenance.
- Hours of work: Mon-Fri (2pm to 12am), weekend work will be required.
- Willingness to take and pass forklift operation certification and aerol lift certification.
- Completion of the final task that is separate from the application.
- Former Tyson Team Members must be separated from the company for a minimum of 180 calendar days.
- If you have worked at Tyson 3 times or more, you will not be eligible for rehire.
- Must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
