Maintenance Generalist 3rd Shift (Feedmill)

About the Role

This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. General Maintenance roles keep machinery running to ensure continuous production.

Responsibilities

• Set up, adjust, and break down production line machinery
• Learn and use Tyson SAP software to create work orders and complete daily documentation
• Communicate effectively with team members, producers, USDA personnel, and drivers
• Perform work-related computations for machinery, fluid capacities, and other tasks using math skills
• Lift up to 50 lbs. periodically throughout the shift
• Work on your feet for up to 12 hours per shift
• Complete all required job training
• Work long hours, climb stairs and ladders, and tow water hoses

Requirements

• Minimum of 6 months of mechanic work experience or graduation from/student status in an industrial maintenance training program (combination of experience accepted)
• Experience or certification in industrial hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, electronics, plumbing, and welding
• Knowledge of PLC operation is a plus
• Strong electronic skill set

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to stand, use hands, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear
• Frequently required to walk, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
• Occasionally required to sit
• Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 125 pounds (assistance provided for tasks exceeding individual ability)
