About the role
This position is for an Experienced General Maintenance Technician on 3rd Shift at the ASSA ABLOY Door Controls manufacturing facility in Monroe, NC. You will work inside a thriving and growing manufacturing facility that designs, tests, produces, and ships Door Closers, Door Controls, and Electromechanical Door Control Operators used in Hospitals, Schools, Churches, Sports Arenas, Hotels, and large Institutional buildings. The facility is a dynamic and fast-paced work environment with many possibilities to make a difference and add value to the business. The team members are open minded and result oriented, always looking out for each other as well as working to reach personal, team and company goals.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose manufacturing equipment malfunctions and make repairs and adjustments using the necessary test equipment, instructions and tools of the trade
- Troubleshoot and repair manufacturing machines and equipment including Automation and CNC equipment
- Perform facility repairs including Plumbing, Welding, Painting, Air Leaks, Roofing, HVAC, and other General Facility upkeep
- Demonstrate the motivation to improve personal job skills and work methods, as well as support company improvement initiatives and processes
- Perform work in accordance with electrical codes, and other specifications
- Comply with all plant safety regulations and company policies
- Maintain 5-S housekeeping practices
- Follow all ISO procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned and required
Qualifications
- 5 years of previous experience as a General Maintenance in a fast paced manufacturing environment
- Thorough background and experience in General Equipment and Facility Maintenance in a Manufacturing Environment
- Very good Mechanical Troubleshooting and repair abilities including, but not limited to welding, brazing, cutting, metal fabricating, piping and carpentry
- Ability to read machine prints, use micrometers, calipers and operate machine shop manual power tools
- Knowledge of the various sizes and uses of different kinds of conduit, fittings, joints, and equipment for channeling services throughout the plant
- Previous experience and certifications with various Forklifts, Scissor Lifts and other motorized vehicles
- Current NC Driver's License and Excellent Driving Record to be qualified to operate Company Vehicles
- Ability to work with minimal supervision; willingness to work with others in a team environment and efficient use of time and materials
- Ability to work overtime as required or necessary to keep the factory operating at an acceptable performance level to meet customer demands
- Willing/Able to work weekends as required and be available for emergency calls
- Exceptional communication skills and ability to work well with peers and associates
- Willingness to get engaged in Continuing Education to improve skill set

- Maintain good housekeeping practices
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 40lbs
- Previous experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and in meeting high production and quality standards
