Maintenance General

About the role

The 1stShift Facility Maintenance Technician provides general upkeep and basic repairs for plant and office facilities, primarily at the Andover facility, while also supporting additional buildings as needed.

Responsibilities

• Handles routine facilities issues and basic equipment troubleshooting ranging from electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and plumbing tasks.
• Follows work orders and/or other general instructions.
• Conducts inspections and logs completed work.
• Offers limited janitorial support (e.g., trash removal, floor cleaning) when workload permits or support is required.

Requirements

• A high school diploma/GED (trade certification or 2 years of handson maintenance experience preferred).
• Ability to work independently and efficiently.
• Demonstrate basic critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficient with hand/power tools and basic electrical/mechanical systems.

Qualifications

• Physical requirements include lifting up to 50 lb, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces with prolonged standing, walking, bending, and kneeling.

Skills

• Ability to obtain a security clearance is required. Interim clearance is required to start position.
• No degree required, high school diploma okay.
• 2+ years maintenance experience.
• 2+ years facilities experience.
• 2+ years experience with general maintenance experience.
• Strong performance during the initial assignment period (approximately eight months) may open the door to extended or full-time engagement with the company.
