Maintenance Foreman
About the role
The role of Maintenance Foreman at Indiana Women's Prison involves overseeing and participating in the repair and preventive maintenance of the facility. This position is full-time, Monday through Friday, 7.5 hours a day.
Responsibilities
- Solicit cost estimates or cost proposals.
- Estimate costs and work hours for maintenance projects.
- Maintain accountability of materials, tools, equipment, and vehicles.
- Ensure compliance, of self and assigned personnel, with all appropriate protective and safety requirements.
- Recruit, select, onboard, and train employees to ensure role responsibilities and expectations are clearly understood while providing opportunities to continue professional development.
- Set expectations, measure progress, provide ongoing feedback, and evaluate the performance of employees.
- Ensure work adheres to quality standards, deadlines, and proper procedures.
- Workday attendance at assigned worksite(s) is an essential function of this position.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, individuals should have broad knowledge of electrical systems, carpentry, plumbing and painting trades, ability to plan, schedule and supervise job sites, ability to read, analyze, and interpret blueprints and other remediation plans and documents, thorough knowledge of standard practices, processes, materials, procedures, and the ability to use tools and equipment of the various trades, thorough knowledge of the OSHA standards, Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), occupational hazards and safety precautions required of the various trade areas, ability to plan and estimate project proposals in terms of equipment, man hours and costs, ability to endure exposure to inclement weather, ability to delegate work, set clear direction, and manage workflow, ability to effectively give feedback, provide guidance or corrective action, coach, and develop employee skillsets, must have and maintain a valid Driver’s License.

Pay
The salary for this position traditionally starts at $42,900.00 but may be commensurate with education and work experience. Use our Compensation Calculator to view the total compensation package.
