Maintenance Foreman - 1st Shift

About the role
The Maintenance Foreman/Lead Man is a hands-on leader responsible for directing and supporting a diverse team of maintenance technicians in a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility. This role ensures that maintenance activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with cGMP standards while fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability, and respect. The Foreman/Lead Man will be a strong communicator, mentor, and problem-solver who sets clear expectations, drives performance, and supports the professional growth of team members.
Responsibilities
- Provide daily leadership, direction, and support to a diverse team of maintenance technicians and contractors
- Check Finished Product Specification Book to ensure customer specifications are met
- Set, adjust and test labeling machinery
- Set correct code dates for each product produced
- Report discrepancies to QA, Supervisor and/or Manager
- Assist in training newly assigned staff in all line production positions when necessary
- Perform rework of damaged product with team when line is down
- Complete Batch Records for lines worked
- Ensure that preventative maintenance checks are performed on all line equipment and machinery
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment to ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and cleanliness standards
- Work closely with QA/QC, Maintenance personnel, warehouse personnel and immediate supervisor and Manager
- Proper accountability and reporting of all unused materials and or components to appropriate personnel
- Ensure all staff wears appropriate PPE
- Set up secondary work assignments to ensure staff is productive during down time
- Must be able to perform all tasks within their assigned lines
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical/vocational training or associate degree preferred
- 5+ years of maintenance experience in a regulated environment (pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device strongly preferred)
- 2+ years of supervisory or lead experience with proven success in managing diverse teams
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills; ability to motivate and unite individuals from different backgrounds
- Demonstrated ability to delegate, resolve conflicts, and hold team members accountable while maintaining respect and fairness
- Strong technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and utility systems used in pharmaceutical manufacturing
- Familiarity with cGMP, FDA, and OSHA requirements
- Proficiency with CMMS systems and ability to manage documentation
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and decision-making skills
Physical Requirements
- Ability to operate forklifts and material handling equipment
- Ability to work in various warehouse conditions
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks such as climbing ladders and working in confined spaces
- Ability to work in cleanroom and controlled environments requiring proper gowning
- Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, or on-call shifts as needed

Pay
$40.00 - $45.00 per hour
Schedule
Monday - Friday, 5am - 1pm
