Maintenance Worker - 1st Shift

Duties & Responsibilities

• Diagnoses and repairs equipment in a timely manner.
• Reads and interprets technical manuals, drawings, and repair directives in order to repair failed or failing systems.
• Reacts to emergencies with a sense of urgency.
• Participates in preventative maintenance program.
• Participates as part of a team, including the sharing of information and knowledge.
• Maintains grounds as directed by Manager of Facilities, EH&S and/or Team Leader.
• Follows schedules and plans as required.
• Retains records of work performed.
• Orders parts on occasion.
• Engages with internal and external technical support in a professional manner.
• Participates in weekend coverage of the plant on a rotating basis with other maintenance workers.
• Follows all safety regulations and precautions.
• Maintains the maintenance area, tools, and supplies in accordance with 6S practices.
• Responsible for the proper handling and management of hazardous waste generated in their work area.
• Willing and able to work overtime as necessary.
• Performs other duties as assigned or required by the position.

Skills & Qualifications

• A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
• Five years’ electromechanical systems or technical A.A.S. is preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to follow verbal, written, and/or detailed instructions requiring simple judgment.
• Ability to make minor decisions and exercise care in order to execute satisfactory work.

Pay

Hourly rate: $19.00 - $35.00/hour

Schedule

Rotating weekend coverage of the plant on a rotating basis with other maintenance workers.
