Responsibilities
- Assists in maintaining a safe, clean, functional, and visually appealing environment for patients, guests, and staff.
- Works under the direction of the Plant Operations Manager to perform maintenance tasks, inspections, and equipment assessments with minimal supervision.
- Performs a variety of plant maintenance tasks.
- Conducts routine equipment testing and documents results.
- Performs safety and preventive maintenance inspections.
- Completes required documentation for assessments and inspections.
- Supports overall facility operations to ensure safety and functionality.
- Effectively performs routine and incident specific maintenance tasks.
- Comply with established measures for infection control, OSHA regulations, and Safety/Risk Management Plans, and policies and procedures.
- Affords support in assuring a safe and risk preventative environment.
- Complies with MSDS regulations and ensures documentation is current within the guidelines required by law.
- Affords support in any emergencies that may arise, as requested.
- Inspects safety of all patient areas, bathrooms, outside areas, etc.
- Ensures adequate preventative maintenance of building facility/equipment.
- Completes safety inspections as instructed by Plant Operations Manager.
- Tags and inspects all electrical equipment.
- Disposes of infectious/contaminated waste from the facility.
- Maintains hospital grounds in a neat and attractive manner.
- Takes necessary safety precautions when handling tools and equipment.
- Affords support in ensuring tools are appropriately stored away from patient access.
Requirements
- High School diploma or the equivalent is required.
- At least 2 years' experience with maintenance, preferably in a hospital setting.
- Familiarity with Joint Commission and other regulatory policy and procedures highly preferred.
- Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Basic computer knowledge.
- Previous experience in plant operations in a hospital setting preferred.
- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements is helpful.
- May be required to work flexible hours and overtime.
Qualifications
