Maintenance Engineering Supervisor
Kona Kai San Diego Resort is a boutique urban resort located on Shelter Island. With 170 guestrooms, Kona Kai Resort is home to Vessel Restaurant + Bar, SpaTerre, a marina, and a private club, all just minutes from downtown San Diego.
About the role
This hands-on role oversees the maintenance and operation of resort facilities, equipment, and building systems. The Maintenance Engineering Supervisor supervises engineering team members, manages work orders, supports preventive maintenance programs, and helps ensure a safe and exceptional guest experience.
Reports to: The Director of Engineering
Responsibilities
- Supervise Engineering team members and daily operations.
- Manage work orders and preventive maintenance programs.
- Diagnose and repair building, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and mechanical systems.
- Inspect guest rooms, public areas, and equipment maintenance.
- Maintain inventory of parts, tools, and supplies.
- Conduct safety inspections and support special projects.
Requirements
- Experience in general building maintenance, plumbing, and electrical systems.
- Basic working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to use power and hand tools safely.
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Open availability, including weekends and holidays.
Qualifications
- Preferred HVAC and refrigeration experience.
- EPA 608 Certification.
- Experience with painting, drywall, copper pipe soldering, and pool maintenance.
- Prior hotel or resort engineering supervisory experience.

Pay
$25.00 - $27.72/hour
Potential for overtime, compensated per California regulations.
