Maintenance Electrician (supporting NASA)

About the role

Under direction of the Electrical Supervisor, the Maintenance Electrician is responsible for the daily operation and electrical maintenance of buildings, including preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and all other building-related electrical systems.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot various electrical systems
• Installation and maintenance of electrical components
• Attend safety training classes & certifications
• Respond to emergencies
• Monitor UPS Battery Alber System
• Assist with outages as needed
• Provide building escorts as needed
• Switch UPS, ATS, & LOAD CENTERS as needed
• Schedule replacement of lights as necessary
• Respond to smoke alarms
• Maintain Log
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Minimum four (4) years’ experience in electrical field
• High school graduate or equivalent
• U.S. Citizenship
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
• Valid state driver’s license with an acceptable driving record

• Knowledge of hand and power tools
• Ability to work with minimal direct supervision
• Ability to meet deadlines and handle potentially highly stressful situations
• Ability to create and maintain a positive team atmosphere with effective interpersonal skills and the ability to work professionally with a variety of people and personalities
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Maximo or similar computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)
