About the Role

Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems associated with all equipment in a manufacturing environment. Directly responsible for installation, maintenance, and repair of all equipment concerned with plant operation, services, and buildings, including storage and inventory of spare parts. Use basic hand and specialty tools for repair equipment in accordance with established safety procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Read blueprints and wiring diagrams for the installation and repair of equipment and the facility
  • Disassemble, repair/replace parts, and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment, such as motors, pumps, conveyors, belts, and fans
  • Clean, lubricate, and adjust functional parts of mechanical devices as necessary
  • Perform major electrical repairs, including 3-phase, 440, and troubleshoot PLCs
  • Install new equipment, replace and test electrical circuits, equipment, and appliances
  • Isolate defects in wiring, switches, motors, and other electrical equipment using testing instruments such as ammeter, ohmmeter, voltmeter, testing lamp, or megger
  • Replace faulty switches, sockets, and other elements of electrical systems
  • Remove or replace electrical transformers and lighting fixtures
  • Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures, including lock-out/tag-out
  • Communicate problems encountered throughout the shift to the production supervisor, maintenance lead, acting supervisor, or maintenance supervisor
  • Operate any equipment needed to perform the job
  • Repair parts that require minor machine work and welding using gas and electric welding equipment
  • Cover both mechanical and electrical equipment without support on off shifts
  • Demonstrate operating knowledge of all production and service equipment
  • Perform other related duties to contribute to the success of the operation as assigned by supervision

Requirements

  • 5+ years of electrical maintenance experience with strong electrical/mechanical knowledge of industrial systems and automated technologies
  • 2-year electrical degree or similar education preferred but not required
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
  • Basic computer skills required
  • Experience working with and leading teams successfully
  • Trained in lockout/tagout procedures

Pay

Starting pay rate of $37.44/hour

Schedule

  • 2nd shift: 3pm - 11pm, Monday - Friday with Saturdays as needed
  • 3rd shift: 11pm - 7am, Monday - Friday with Saturdays as needed
  • Must be available to train on 1st shift (7am-3pm) for the first few weeks of employment
