Maintenance Electrician

About the Role

The Maintenance Electrician is a multi-functional technician responsible for effectively maintaining building systems and infrastructure in optimal condition. This role involves performing inspections and repairs to assigned property interior and exterior areas, including electrical, HVAC, refrigeration, material handling and conveyance systems, robotics, walls, flooring, installed fixtures, roofing systems, and lighting.

You will execute equipment inspection and monitoring programs, define and implement maintenance best practices to improve mechanical equipment uptime, and continuously evaluate current maintenance, operations, and reliability methods to enhance effectiveness. This role also involves leading, training, and supporting maintenance team members to develop skills and expand team capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance, repair, and other technical activities on building electrical systems, including power distribution and critical power systems such as UPS and generators.
• Maintain HVAC systems, including determining the frequency of preventive maintenance (PM) and repair, reviewing logs, and escalating issues with refrigeration, water cooling, air conditioning, boilers, heating, ventilating, hot water equipment, pumps, valves, piping, and filters.
• Support Material Handling Equipment (MHE) and robotics, including electrical aspects of automated conveyor systems, to foster a "One Team" environment.
• Ensure adequate inventory of tools and supplies, prepare and submit purchase order requests, and monitor inventory levels and equipment conditions.
• Oversee contractor activities within the building and identify safety hazards, escalating remediation as needed.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory laws and guidelines related to building infrastructure and maintain all compliance documentation, including building drawings and single lines.
• Promote and ensure understanding of the Critical Facility Work Authorization (CFWA) process among staff, engineers, tenants, and contractors.
• Demonstrate proper use and care of tools, provide hands-on instruction in maintenance, safety, and troubleshooting procedures, and recommend relevant training.
• Perform other operational tasks as assigned and travel as required to support network needs.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience with industrial electrical or facility maintenance.
• State journeyman electrician license, with a requirement to keep it active for the duration of employment.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Flexibility to work various shifts and alternative work schedules as needed.
• Must be authorized to work within the hiring country without requiring company sponsorship now or in the future.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with facility power distribution and critical power systems (including UPS and generators).
• Experience working with HVAC and fluid power systems, including plumbing and hydraulics.
• Experience with electrical aspects of automated manufacturing, material handling equipment (MHE), or components such as conveyor systems, pneumatic systems, electric motors, and VFDs.
• Working knowledge of computer applications including Microsoft Office and CMMS systems.
• Experience working independently, mentoring others, and interfacing with clients.

Physical Demands

• Ability to stand for prolonged periods and walk extensively throughout the facility during shift.
• Repetitive bending, crouching, kneeling, reaching, twisting, sitting, standing, and walking.
• Lifting parts and tools weighing on average 20 pounds, occasionally up to 49 pounds.
• Dexterity in eye/hand coordination, feet (foot pedals), manual tasks (picking, pinching, holding, grasping), and wrist motion (repetitive flexion/rotation).
• Working conditions may include elevated heights, small spaces, dust, fumes/odors, hot/cold temperatures, inside/outside noise, vibration, standing on concrete for long hours, and wet or uneven surfaces.
• Pushing/pulling wheeled equipment and carts up to 100+ pounds.
• Maneuvering awkward or bulky equipment parts and working in cramped positions under/behind machinery.
