Maintenance Electrician

About the Role

The Maintenance Electrician is a multi-functional technician responsible for maintaining building systems and infrastructure in optimal condition. This includes performing inspections and repairs to assigned property interior and exterior areas, such as electrical systems, HVAC, refrigeration, material handling and conveyance systems, robotics, walls, flooring, installed fixtures, roofing, and lighting.

This role involves evaluating and implementing maintenance best practices to improve mechanical equipment uptime, leading and training maintenance team members, and demonstrating flexibility to work various shifts and alternative schedules.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance, repair, and technical activities on building electrical systems, including power distribution and critical power systems such as UPS and generators.
• Maintain HVAC systems, including determining preventive maintenance frequency, reviewing logs, and escalating issues with refrigeration, water cooling, air conditioning, boilers, heating, ventilating, hot water equipment, pumps, valves, piping, and filters.
• Support material handling equipment (MHE) and robotics, including electrical aspects of automated conveyor systems, to foster a "One Team" environment.
• Ensure adequate inventory of tools and supplies, prepare purchase orders, and monitor inventory levels and equipment conditions.
• Oversee contractor activities within the building and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Identify and escalate safety hazards to maintain a safe working environment.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory laws and guidelines, and maintain up-to-date building infrastructure and compliance documentation.
• Promote and ensure understanding of the Critical Facility Work Authorization (CFWA) process among staff, engineers, tenants, and contractors.
• Train team members on tool use, safety, troubleshooting, and professionalism.
• Perform other operational tasks as assigned and travel as required to support network needs.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience with industrial electrical or facility maintenance.
• Active state journeyman electrician license, maintained for the duration of employment.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Flexibility to work various shifts and alternative work schedules.
• Must be authorized to work within the hiring country without requiring company sponsorship now or in the future.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with facility power distribution and critical power systems (including UPS and generators).
• Experience with HVAC and fluid power systems, including plumbing and hydraulics.
• Experience with electrical aspects of automated manufacturing, material handling equipment (MHE), or components such as conveyor systems, pneumatic systems, electric motors, and VFDs.
• Working knowledge of computer applications including Microsoft Office and CMMS systems.
• Experience working independently, mentoring others, and interfacing with clients.

Physical Demands

• Ability to stand for prolonged periods and walk extensively throughout the facility during shift.
• Repetitive bending, crouching, kneeling, reaching, twisting, sitting, standing, and walking.
• Lifting parts and tools weighing on average 20 pounds, occasionally up to 49 pounds.
• Dexterity in eye/hand coordination, foot pedals, manual tasks (picking, pinching, holding, grasping), and wrist motion (repetitive flexion/rotation).
• Working conditions may include elevated heights, small spaces, dust, fumes/odors, hot/cold temperatures, noise, vibration, standing on concrete for long hours, and wet or uneven surfaces.
• Pushing/pulling wheeled equipment and carts up to 100+ pounds.
• Maneuvering awkward or bulky equipment parts and working in cramped positions under/behind machinery.
