Maintenance Electrician

About the role

We refine chemical material solutions with game-changing products. As a Shift Maintenance Electrician, you will support and promote all company goals, including an injury-free work environment through safe work practices. You will evaluate, diagnose, analyze, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and mechanical functions of the extrusion process, including all electrical equipment, instrumentation, and electrical/computerized process control systems. Working with minimal supervision, you will support the manufacturing facility and operations in troubleshooting, repairs, installation, and operational tasks associated with electrical and controls equipment.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair all related electrical equipment and electrical instrumentation in areas of responsibility.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns and return equipment to operation as quickly as possible to minimize downtime and production losses.
• Interpret information from various test equipment, documentation, and verbal information from operations to expedite equipment repairs.
• Install, improve, or modify electrical, controls, and instrumentation equipment as requested.
• Provide project support for electrical, instrumentation, and control systems projects as necessary.
• Work with engineering, construction services, and manufacturing personnel in a team environment.
• Participate in continuous improvement and reliability improvement processes.
• Test, calibrate, and perform preventive maintenance (PMs) on electrical equipment and instrumentation.
• Maintain accurate records of electrical systems, tests, calibrations, and PMs performed.
• Improve personal knowledge of electrical systems and equipment to enhance quality, efficiency, and reduce downtime.
• Maintain strong safety awareness and knowledge of plant electrical processes and safety procedures.
• Promote an injury-free work environment and respond quickly to correct unsafe conditions.
• Perform interactive safety training and wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Perform appropriate Lockout/Tagout procedures for machinery and equipment repairs, including troubleshooting.
• Maintain good housekeeping practices and participate in department safety and housekeeping activities.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• State Electrician’s License (Massachusetts preferred) with completed electrical apprenticeship program.
• Minimum of 1 year of industry-related electrical experience or 3 years of commercial electrical experience.
• Experience working with 480V/3 Phase systems.

Qualifications

• Solid industrial mechanical skills to complement electrical skills.
• Ability to identify electrical equipment deficiencies, malfunctions, and breakdowns, and diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair them.
• Physical ability to routinely lift and carry up to 55 lbs, climb stairs, lift and pull 10 lbs overhead, and stoop/bend at the knees and waist.
• Diligent, conscientious, self-motivated, and self-directed, with the ability to function well in a team.
• Demonstrated leadership, initiative, accountability, and responsibility for all tasks.
• Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changes in a fast-paced environment.

Pay

The starting pay for this role is $42.60/hour.
