Maintenance Electrician

Global Precision Systems, LLC (GPS) is an SBA‑certified Small Disadvantaged Business established in 2007. Core competencies include facility operations and maintenance, logistics services, and administrative support for federal agencies across 38 states and international locations. This position is for a Maintenance Electrician based in El Centro, CA.

Responsibilities

• Installing wiring, electrical panels, outlets, switches, and lighting systems
• Setting up power distribution systems in new construction projects
• Reading and interpreting blueprints, technical diagrams, and building codes
• Inspecting electrical systems to identify problems or hazards
• Troubleshooting issues such as power outages, faulty wiring, or equipment failure
• Repairing or replacing damaged wiring, circuit breakers, and other components
• Testing electrical systems using tools like voltmeters and ohmmeters
• Ensuring systems meet local, state, and national electrical codes
• Following strict safety procedures to prevent accidents or electrical hazards
• Other duties as needed

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• 5 years of relevant experience in commercial office building maintenance
• Knowledge of building codes and regulations
• Excellent organization skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Experience in testing and inspection reports to ensure accuracy
• Experience utilizing various tools and testing equipment to perform required duties
• Ability to work flexible hours if needed
• Ability to work overtime as needed
• Ability to take on general maintenance work and other duties as needed

• Strong troubleshooting skills for electrical and general maintenance work
• Ability to work effectively with others
• Strong work ethic
• Preferred: Proficiency with Microsoft 365, communication platforms, or industry‑standard software (e.g., Excel)

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to pass a DHS ICE background check
• Stand for long periods; bend, twist, crouch, crawl
• Climb ladders and scaffolds and maintain balance
• Lift and carry materials up to 50 lbs
• Reach overhead
• Use a variety of hand and power tools to complete tasks
• Maintain constant mental alertness

Work Environment

• Exposure to extreme heat and cold weather
• Work in residential and commercial buildings
• Work with 208V–480V electrical systems
• Work around detainees while performing duties
• Maintain a fast, safe pace as needed
• Wear and maintain company‑provided safety equipment
• Maintain a safe working environment

Pay

Hourly wage: $39.43/hr plus fringe rate of $39.43/hr.
