About the role
The Maintenance / EHS Supervisor position is available in Olive Branch, Mississippi. This role involves leading Maintenance and Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) functions, managing facility operations, and overseeing powered equipment maintenance. The supervisor must ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and foster a safe, clean, and efficient work environment.
Responsibilities
- Implement, complete, and ensure adherence to Company's Environmental Health and Safety policies and procedures
- Ensure all required company and regulatory reporting requirements are submitted on-time
- Develop non-EHS site personnel to support implementation of EHS programs
- Aid in the management of workers compensation
- Collaborate with regulatory agencies (OSHA, EPA, State/Local Regulators)
- Lead management personnel in the investigations of facility incidents and complaints regarding unsafe working conditions and practices
- Help identify and track immediate solutions, root causes, and corrective actions to completion
- Conduct routine safety observations to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies, company environmental, health, and safety policies, procedures and practices
- Serve as a facilitator for hourly and supervisory employee EHS and New Hire training
- Represent management during EHS Meetings along with the other facility personnel
- Serve as an advisory Member of the Safety Committee and adhere to OSHA regulations
- Perform other EHS duties as required by management
- Plan and lead overall maintenance and special projects
- Ensure facility atmosphere, 5S and hygiene compliance
- Assist in upgrading existing equipment to safer, efficient, and productive alternatives
- Establish and maintain specific preventive maintenance schedules on equipment and facilities
- Perform other facility duties as assigned
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in a Maintenance, Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) and Facilities role within a distribution center environment
- Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience overseeing hourly employees in a fast-paced distribution center setting
- Proven ability to independently lead and manage EHS programs with minimal supervision
- Demonstrated success in preparing for and passing internal EHS audits
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage employees at all levels of the organization
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Office Suite, with the ability to create reports, dashboards, and training materials
- Effective presentation and facilitation skills, with experience leading safety meetings, training sessions, and cross-functional initiatives
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
- Experience handling recordable injuries
- Experience administering workers compensation
- Exposure to all Industrial Hygiene Programs with emphasis on ergonomics identifying, evaluating, and controlling workplace hazards to protect worker health and safety
- Behavioral based safety background
- Knowledge of Preventive Maintenance Software
- Strong hands-on experience in electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment
