Maintenance Custodian - Facilities Department

Semiskilled manual work involving responsibility for care and maintenance of specific public buildings, related equipment, and surrounding grounds; all other related work as required.

Responsibilities

• Perform custodial and maintenance duties for public buildings and surrounding grounds
• Work independently and as part of a team
• Operate and maintain related equipment

Requirements

• High school graduation
• Two years experience in a progressively responsible custodial/maintenance position
• Ability to work shifts lasting more than 6 hours on a consistent daily schedule
• Class D Massachusetts driver’s license
• CORI Certification (required as a condition of employment)

Qualifications

• Moderate physical effort required, including extensive walking, reaching, standing, stooping, and climbing
• Frequently lift, move, and/or push furniture and equipment weighing 30 pounds or more
• Physical agility to access all areas needing cleaning and maintenance
