Responsibilities

    • Works respectfully with all team members to ensure the Safety, Quality, production, and support of our products and goals on a daily basis.

    • Actively participates in Marzetti Operational Excellence, special projects or tasks, and modification programs as needed with prior approval.
    • Actively participates in department/shift/team meetings and is involved with improvement/resolutions & follow-up.

    • Maintains highest standard of Safety for all functions on an ongoing basis and ensures compliance for self and others to OSHA standards, company policies, and procedures.
    • Performs daily inspection of all PPE required including but not limited to SLIP-RESISTANT/STEEL-TOED SHOES, hairnet, and beard net (if necessary) to ensure good overall condition of items that provide optimal personal safety & protection while working in the facility.
    • Successfully acquires and maintains Lock Out-Tag Out Certification for machines and safely performs all functions in accordance with OSHA and company requirements and standards.
    • Performs daily inspection of power equipment with proper documentation in accordance with OSHA standards, company policies, and procedures.
    • Completes Behavior Based Safety Observations (BBSO), corrects issues when identified, and participates in problem solving.

    • Completes Behavior Based Quality observations (BBQs), corrects issues when identified, and participates in problem solving.
    • Ensures compliance with quality, food safety / HACCP, FSMA, Food Defense, 5S, OSHA, and other support programs; assures conformity to all company, customer, and government standards.
    • Communicates any concerns related to product safety, integrity, quality, and legality to management or to the confidential hotline if anonymity is necessary.

    • Ensures repair part stocking levels are maintained to support all maintenance activities.
    • Leads the inventory cycle counting program.
    • Creates SAP numbers for all new repair parts.
    • Completes daily SAP entries such as equipment parts received and issued, inventory updates, and minimum/maximum levels.
    • Maintains an organized vendor filing system and copies of any documents that may be needed for audits.
    • Participates in breakdown elimination activities that involve repair part failures.
    • Partners with MRO providers to look for opportunities to increase equipment reliability and decrease costs.
    • Completes weekly reports to show parts expenditures relative to budget and notifies the maintenance manager or supervisor regarding the weekly level of spending.
    • Sends requests for quotes to vendors for part purchases.
    • Manages multiple tasks simultaneously in a high-pressure environment.
    • Demonstrates good technical and mechanical skills, effective oral and written communication skills, and group speaking requirements.
    • Applies good manufacturing knowledge and experience, and is proficient with MS Office applications.
    • Problem-solving and leadership experience is preferred; experience with SAP is a plus.
    • Proven experience as an MRO Specialist or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
    • Strong understanding of maintenance, repair, and operations processes, and excellent knowledge of inventory management and control.
    • Ability to work with minimal supervision and make decisions independently, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
    • All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Prior experience in a manufacturing environment requiring repetitive work preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively—verbally and in writing—and work well with Team Members and Management.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and good math skills are helpful.
  • Ability to read and interpret written and verbal direction while working in a safe, effective, and productive manner within a fast-paced environment.
  • Minimum of High School Diploma or GED required.

Working Conditions

  • Works in a manufacturing environment where the Team Member is regularly required to speak, read, comprehend, stand, walk, reach, lift, grasp, climb, and bend while working in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Lifts up to 20 pounds; may be required to work overtime and/or weekends as needed.
  • SLIP-RESISTANT/Steel-toed shoes, earplugs, safety glasses, hairnets, beard nets (if facial hair exists), and smocks are required to be worn/used in accordance with company GMP and Safety standards. Condition of these items must be inspected by the employee daily and replaced when no longer providing optimal protection.
