About the role
Husky TechnologiesTM is seeking a Maintenance Coordinator to oversee the planning, scheduling, and execution of maintenance activities for all CNC and facility equipment. This role is critical to maximizing equipment uptime, reducing downtime, and ensuring efficient coordination between maintenance, production, and external vendors.
Responsibilities
- Maintenance Scheduling & Coordination
- Develop and manage preventive and predictive maintenance schedules for CNC equipment, facility equipment, and all related subcomponents
- Coordinate daily, weekly, and long-term maintenance activities to minimize production disruption
- Prioritize maintenance work orders based on asset criticality, production impact, and resource availability
- Maintain and optimize the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System)
- Ensure all maintenance activities are documented, tracked, and completed on time
- Project Management
- Plan and execute maintenance-related projects, including upgrades, installations, and process improvements
- Define project scope, timelines, and resource requirements
- Monitor project progress and adjust plans to meet deadlines and operational goals
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams on equipment improvements and reliability initiatives
- Track key metrics such as downtime, MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures), and maintenance costs
- Communication & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Serve as the primary liaison between maintenance, production, and leadership teams
- Communicate maintenance plans, schedules, and updates clearly and effectively
- Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and service providers
- Facilitate regular maintenance planning meetings and updates (SQDC)
- Encourage team collaboration (teamwork) and communication with the Maintenance Team to foster a positive work environment
- Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve maintenance efficiency, scheduling accuracy, and equipment reliability
- Support Lean, TPM, or continuous improvement initiatives
- Analyze maintenance data to drive informed decision-making
Requirements
- High school diploma or high school equivalency
- 5+ years of experience in maintenance coordination, scheduling, or planning in a manufacturing environment
- Hands-on experience working with or supporting CNC equipment (mills, lathes, etc.)
- Strong attention to detail, organizational and time management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong problem-solving skills with a deep commitment to quality
- Solid computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite – Outlook, Excel and Word)
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively
- Experience using a CMMS or maintenance tracking system
Qualifications
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, Engineering, or related field
- Preferred: Project management experience or certification (PMI, CAPM, etc.)
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or TPM methodologies
