Responsibilities

  • Performs a wide variety of routine repairs and preventative maintenance tasks on commercial property.
  • Modifies and repairs interior/exterior walls systems, roof systems, floor coverings, windows and window coverings.
  • Installs, textures and repairs drywall.
  • BUILDS AND INSTALLS PARTITIONS AND CABINETRY.
  • FITS AND INSTALLED PREFABRICATED WINDOW FRAMES, DOORS, DOORFRAMES, WEATHER STRIPPING, INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR TRIM, AND FINISH HARDWARE.
  • PERFORMS INTERIOR/EXTERIOR PAINTING.
  • INSTALLED AND REPAIRED LOCK/KEYSYSTEMS.
  • REPLACES/REPAIRS RECEPTACLES, LAMPS, BALLASTS, SINKS, TOILETS, FAUCETS.
  • WORKS DAILY WITH A COMPUTERIZED MAINTENANCE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM TO ENTER, CLOSE AND RECORD WORK ORDERS.
  • CLEANS WORK AREA, TOOLS, AND EQUIPMENT.
  • AID OTHER MAINTENANCE TECHNICIANS IN A WIDE VARIETY OF TASKS.

Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum five (5) years directly related carpentry and/or building maintenance experience.
  • Valid Alaska Driver’s License with three (3) years acceptable driving record to be eligible under company vehicle insurance policy.

Skills And Abilities

  • Must be able to work well with others as directed and be a team player.
  • Able to work independently and prioritize workload.
  • MUST BE ABLE AND WILLING TO ASSUME THE ROLE OF SITE LEAD TECHNICIAN IN AN EMERGENCY.

Physical Requirements

  • Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; extreme cold; and vibration.
  • REGULARLY LIFT AND/OR MOVE UP TO 25 POUNDS, FREQUENTLY LIFT AND/OR MOVE UP TO 50 POUNDS, AND MAY OCCASIONALLY LIFT AND/OR MOVE MORE THAN 100 POUNDS.
  • EXPOSED TO NOISE LEVELS IN THE WORK ENVIRONMENT THAT ARE USUALLY MODERATE.

Working Conditions And Physical Requirements

  • The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; extreme cold; and vibration.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
