Maintenance Assistant

The Pillars of Prospect Park, opened in 2020, is a senior living community located off the light rail transit station near the University of Minnesota campus in Minneapolis, MN. The community includes 133 independent living, 106 assisted living, and 44 memory care apartments across two buildings, along with an on-site Intergenerational Child Care Center. Managed by Ebenezer, Minnesota's largest senior living operator, we are dedicated to helping seniors live longer, healthier, and more meaningful lives.

About the role

The Maintenance Assistant monitors preventative maintenance programs, repairs building systems and equipment, and trains other building staff on basic troubleshooting. This position supports a community with 200+ units.

Schedule

• 48 hours every two weeks
• Full benefits package
• Monday, Wednesday, and every other Friday
• Every other weekend rotation

Responsibilities

• Repairs and maintains physical structure and grounds, including:
  • Repairing items identified by maintenance or work orders
  • Changing filters and checking belts on air handle units
  • Inspecting and maintaining kitchen equipment
  • Greasing, checking belts, and oiling laundry equipment
  • Assisting Housekeeping as requested
  • Moving boxes, furniture, and other heavy items
• Maintains a clean and orderly shop
• Removes snow from sidewalks and walkways, applies ice melt as needed
• Trims bushes, trees, and sidewalks to keep grounds safe and attractive
• Processes work orders and performs other assigned duties
• Assists with apartment turnover for new residents
• Performs all other duties as assigned

Requirements

• One to three years of experience

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED (preferred)

Pay

Compensation is determined by factors such as skills, knowledge, relevant education, experience, and market conditions. Our organization prioritizes pay equity and considers internal team equity when making offers. Hiring at the maximum of the range is not typical. If eligible, a sign-on bonus may be offered based on the approved program at the time of hire.
