Description
Position Summary: While working as a Mailing Operator, you will be tasked with fulfilling duties and performing tasks related to setting up and operating inkjet printers, inserters, preparing envelopes with correct shipping address, and entering jobs into the ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system. The person in this position assists the Production department by ensuring internal quality standards and mail conforms to US postal regulations.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Verify that items are addressed correctly, marked with the proper postage, and in suitable condition for processing
- Set up and operate all inkjet, inserters and labeling equipment and their corresponding software
- Review job orders to determine the type and size of items scheduled for printing and mailing
- Prepare finished jobs for the next mailing sequence
- Inspect mail machine output for defects and determine how to eliminate causes of any defects
- Perform all minor maintenance, troubleshooting, and cleaning of machinery as needed
- Review and inspect jobs to ensure mail conforms to US postal regulations
- Prepare envelopes with items such as a shipping address, return address, labels, or stamps
- Enter finished jobs into the ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system
- Drive a box truck to deliver mail

Requirements

- Other Qualifications
- A High School Diploma is required but some prior experience or training in print/mail is necessary.
- Experience working with inserters. (Rival, Flowmaster and Quadient)
- Knowledge of USPS mailing regulations and postal standards.
- Basic computer skills and ability to use postage/print software.

- Ability to write effective correspondence to customers and coworkers
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow job instructions accurately.
- Current drivers license required, DOT preferred
- Experience working in a deadline-driven environment.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- While performing the duties of this job, one is regularly required to stand for prolonged periods of time.
- Additionally, reaching with hands and arms is regularly required to walk, stoop, and bend over and regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- While performing the duties of this job, the associate regularly works in close proximity to moving mechanical parts, as well as other employees.
- Additionally, the noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud, and usually consists of light machinery, nearby printers, and other employees conversing.
