About the role
The Mail Services Coordinator supports CRISTA’s mission by providing excellent attention to detail and customer service to staff and residents on the Shoreline campus. This role involves efficiently processing high volumes of mail and packages, ensuring timely and accurate delivery while maintaining cost-effective mailing practices.
Responsibilities
- Provide excellent customer service in verbal and written communications with internal and external customers.
- Pick up, sort, and deliver all incoming CRISTA mail per agreed-upon schedules.
- Pick up, sort, and meter outgoing CRISTA mail per agreed-upon schedules.
- Prepare daily UPS shipments per the agreed-upon pickup schedule.
- Determine the most cost-effective mailing routes for packages or expedited envelopes (USPS or UPS).
- Apply mailing regulations and pricing to CRISTA’s mailings.
- Run monthly postage meter reports and reconcile postage accounts as assigned.
- Propose improvements to mail delivery and copy center service systems.
- Scan invoices received in the mail to Accounts Payable.
- Collaborate with supervisors, coworkers, and customers.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Maintain conduct that aligns with CRISTA’s mission, vision, Statement of Faith, and Christian Community Representative Commitment (CCC).
Requirements
- Belief that Jesus Christ is Lord and Savior.
- Committed Christian dedicated to spiritual growth (e.g., daily prayer, fellowship, Bible study).
- Affirms and aligns with CRISTA’s Statement of Faith and Christian Community Representative Statement (CCC).
- Conducts oneself in a manner reflecting CRISTA’s mission, vision, and values.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Ability to lift heavy items (up to 25 lbs) frequently.
- Ability to stand for long periods and navigate stairs.
- Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and access to a personal vehicle for mail pickup/delivery.
- Works independently, efficiently, and professionally with diverse personalities.
- Adaptable to dynamic situations and capable of real-time adjustments.
- Autonomous task prioritization while maintaining visibility to supervisors.
- Collaborative with supervisors, coworkers, and customers.
- Pass background checks relating to DSHS Secretary’s List of Crimes and Negative Actions (WAC 388-113).
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience with mailroom machinery (copier, inserter, postage meter).
- Working knowledge of Unit4 Business World On (or other ERP software).
- Demonstrated good judgment and organizational skills.
- Ability to organize multiple tasks into efficient systems and monitor progress.
- Effective communication with students, parents, and staff.
Schedule
30 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM.
Pay
$20 – $23/hour.
