Mail Room Helper/Assistant

About the role

We are looking for a dependable, detail-oriented person to join our mail room team! Our company processes bulk mailings for a variety of customers, and this position plays an important role in making sure those mailings are prepared accurately and efficiently. We are looking for someone who pays close attention to the work in front of them and naturally notices when something doesn't look right. In this position, catching a small mistake before a mailing goes out can make a big difference.

What You'll Do

• Prepare and process bulk mailings for our customers
• Sort, organize, and prepare mail according to job specifications
• Operate mail processing and finishing equipment
• Follow mailing instructions carefully
• Inspect work for errors and inconsistencies
• Help ensure mailings are completed accurately and on schedule
• Occasionally process and meter in-house mail
• Perform other mail room duties as needed

• Comfortable asking questions when something doesn't seem right
• Reliable, punctual, and willing to be part of a team
• Basic computer skills and the ability to learn new software and equipment

Qualifications

• Previous mailing, postal, or bulk-mail experience is a plus, but is not required
• Knowledge of USPS regulations and mailing requirements is a plus
• We are willing to train the right person
• The ability to learn, retain information, and become confident working independently is more important than previous mail-room experience

Pay

$18.00 - $22.00 per hour
