About the role
A reliable and organized Mailroom & Shipping Associate to support daily mailroom operations and manage package distribution across our campus. This role serves as a key point of contact for incoming deliveries and is responsible for maintaining an efficient flow of mail, packages, and supplies throughout the organization. The ideal candidate is comfortable working on their feet for most of the day, can lift packages up to 50 pounds, and enjoys a hands-on work environment.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a visible presence in the mailroom and oversee daily loading dock activities.
- Welcome and direct delivery drivers, including FedEx, Amazon, UPS, and other carriers, ensuring deliveries reach the appropriate locations.
- Process incoming and outgoing mail and packages efficiently and accurately.
- Receive, sort, distribute, and ship mail and packages throughout the organization.
- Perform daily mail and package deliveries to departments across the campus.
- Fill internal supply orders for branch locations by picking, packing, and shipping requested materials.
- Operate mailroom equipment, including envelope and postage machines.
- Take clear and accurate photographs of shipping labels, package information, addresses, and tracking details for documentation purposes.
- Maintain organized mailroom and package storage areas.
- Utilize carts, dollies, flatbeds, and other equipment to transport mail and packages safely.
- Assist with one scheduled building-wide delivery route each day.
- Support increased package volume and ensure timely processing of all deliveries.
Requirements
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Reliable attendance and a dependable work ethic.
- Ability to stand and be active throughout the majority of the shift.
- Ability to safely lift, carry, push, and pull items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Comfortable handling packages of varying sizes, with most weighing between 10-15 pounds.
- Ability to use a camera or mobile device to take clear, focused photographs of labels and package information.
- Strong communication and customer service skills when interacting with delivery personnel and internal departments.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
- Previous mailroom, shipping/receiving, warehouse, logistics, or related experience is preferred but not required.
