About the role
This is a 3-month assignment with possible extension, providing additional support for mailroom and shipping operations in a New York location (855 Ave of the Americas). The role is on-site and not remote.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and support personnel across all mailroom, shipping, and receiving functions.
- Set work schedules, assign tasks, and cross-train staff to ensure full operational coverage, including during high-volume events and seasonal activations.
- Oversee the receipt, handling, logging, and dispatch of apparel samples, seasonal product, confidential materials, and VIP items.
- Maintain a secure and documented chain of custody for all inbound and outbound shipments.
- Manage high-volume event product flows, ensuring accurate intake, secure storage, and timely distribution.
- Coordinate logistics for high-profile activations with professionalism and discretion.
- Maintain and enforce mailroom policies and procedural manuals, including protocols for confidential and high-value items.
- Communicate updates clearly to team members and drive consistent compliance.
- Operate and oversee shipping and tracking platforms, including UPS, FedEx, US Government Client, PS Tracks, Ricoh, and related systems.
- Train team members on applicable platforms and resolve operational issues decisively.
- Identify root causes of issues, implement corrective actions, and communicate outcomes to stakeholders.
- Develop and refine techniques to improve throughput, accuracy, and security during peak periods.
- Maintain cost records by department, implement cost-saving measures, and report on operational efficiency.
- Ensure all work reflects the highest standards of organization, confidentiality, and client service.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED with five or more years of job-related experience.
- Prior supervisory or shift manager experience required.
- Experience in a high-volume mailroom, shipping operation, or logistics environment strongly preferred.
- Working knowledge of mailroom and shipping operations, including intake protocols, chain-of-custody practices, and handling procedures for confidential and high-value items.
- Demonstrated ability to manage sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality under pressure.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams), Slack, Zoom, and Box.
- Familiarity with UPS, FedEx, US Government Client, PS Tracks, Ricoh, and other mail and package management systems.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, adapt, and execute in a high-paced environment.
- Motivated, hands-on, and committed to team and client success.
Pay
Potential convert-to-perm salary: $75,000.

Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM.
