What You'll Do
- Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and specifications to determine machine setup, type of material or part, quantity, and finish dimensions
- Create and modify programs directed by Engineering or Management for program development purposes
- Assemble and operate CNC machines, including 5-axis, to meet desired specifications
- Install and align machine accessories, such as cutting tools, work positioners, plates, fixtures, and shields, using hand tools and measuring instruments, or coordinate information into computer control panel
- Manipulate machine controls, such as buttons, switches, dials, levers, and pedals, to regulate and adjust cutting speed and feeds
- Maintain offsets to maintain print/sketch tolerances and demonstrate a thorough understanding of tool pressure and wear
- Measure dimensions of finished part, using measuring instruments, such as micrometers, calipers, and dial indicators, or check fixture
- Trim, sand, and drill parts using shop equipment
- Accurately execute PCS (Process Control Sheets) and provide feedback when revisions are needed
- Document actions by completing production and quality logs as needed
- Assist Engineering with the implementation, creation, and maintenance of PCS
- Complete job assignments as directed by Manufacturing Manager
- Attend meetings, trainings, and participate in audits as directed
- Maintain safety by adhering to safety procedures and regulations
- Train others by openly sharing information, knowledge, and expertise with the team
- Complete daily/weekly operator maintenance on machine equipment/tools (oil, clean, and inspection)
- Keep work area clean and organized to company standards/expectations
- Daily cleaning and sweeping of work area, tools and equipment
- Empty trash and waste as needed
- Personal items removed from workstations
What You'll Bring
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Minimum 3 years proven experience in CNC Machine Operation
- Experience in programming with G code required
- CNC Machine Tool schooling or relative experience preferred
- Working knowledge of understanding blueprint requirements and ability to interpret geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T)
- Forklift experience is preferred
- Reliable transportation
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
- Ability to effectively manage time, multi-task, and pay close attention to details
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Capable of following directions
- Take responsibility for achieving production efficiency, quality of product and reports discrepant material immediately
- Customer focus by seeking out, understanding, and responding to the needs of both internal and external customers
- Maintain a positive attitude and communicate openly and honestly with others
