Machinist II

Duties and Responsibilities

• Operate large, CNC-controlled crankshaft milling and turning machines.
• Load workpiece into machine, layout and set program offsets.
• Monitor the machining process, identify and correct issues.
• Unload and deburr semi-finished parts.
• Index carbide inserts, rebuild and perform basic repairs on tooling system.
• Prove out new CNC part programs.
• Perform basic troubleshooting of CNC programs.
• Use precision measuring instruments.
• Operate a metal cutting band saw.
• Turn and center parts in a lathe.
• Machine drive flats into work pieces using a CNC mill.
• Moving items with overhead cranes, power pushers, forklifts, and other motorized equipment.
• Maintain highest quality standards in the execution of all assigned work.

Required Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 3 or more years machining experience preferred, but not required.
• Strong analytical skills and demonstrated problem-solving abilities.
• Familiar with general computer applications.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Solid verbal and written communication skills.
• Read and understand written instructions and work lists.
• Basic shop math skills (Algebra / Geometry).
• Read and interpret manufacturing drawings.
• Read and interpret CNC program manuscripts.
• Perform basic troubleshooting of CNC programs.
• Use precision measuring instruments.
• Experience operating tow motors, overhead cranes, or similar heavy equipment.
