Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate large, CNC-controlled crankshaft milling and turning machines.
- Load workpiece into machine, layout and set program offsets.
- Monitor the machining process, identify and correct issues.
- Unload and deburr semi-finished parts.
- Index carbide inserts, rebuild and perform basic repairs on tooling system.
- Prove out new CNC part programs.
- Perform basic troubleshooting of CNC programs.
- Use precision measuring instruments.
- Operate a metal cutting band saw.
- Turn and center parts in a lathe.
- Machine drive flats into work pieces using a CNC mill.
- Moving items with overhead cranes, power pushers, forklifts, and other motorized equipment.
- Maintain highest quality standards in the execution of all assigned work.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- 3 or more years machining experience preferred, but not required.
- Strong analytical skills and demonstrated problem-solving abilities.
- Familiar with general computer applications.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Solid verbal and written communication skills.
- Read and understand written instructions and work lists.
- Basic shop math skills (Algebra / Geometry).
- Read and interpret manufacturing drawings.
- Read and interpret CNC program manuscripts.
- Perform basic troubleshooting of CNC programs.
- Use precision measuring instruments.
- Experience operating tow motors, overhead cranes, or similar heavy equipment.
