About The Opportunity

The Machinist position performs all aspects necessary for the machining processes used in the manufacturing of components. This is a full-time role Friday through Sunday 6:00 am to 6:30 pm.

Responsibilities

  • Operates all manual, CNC, or EDM machines to perform completely and independently specific operations as outlined in the methods and process sheets
  • Changes, sets, and adjusts precision tools as required
  • Loads and deletes programs in the computer
  • Makes minor adjustments of feeds and speeds on the assigned machine
  • Grinds own cutting tools and drills (other than special purpose tools)
  • Maintains specific tolerances and accurately performs dimensions
  • Checks parts using specified gages or furnished fixtures to ensure dimensions are maintained
  • Performs routine maintenance checks and reports improper machine function
  • Maintains a neat and orderly work area
  • Follows all applicable safety rules and precautions
  • Assists with related training of other employees as needed
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of one (1) year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis without sponsorship now or in the future. The Company cannot offer employment to visa holders who require employer sponsorship in the future or cannot work now on a full-time basis
  • Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong Mechanical skills
  • 1+ year experience in setup and operation of CNC mills and/or lathes
  • Ability to use air and electric tools to remove metal
  • Willingness to learn new skills
  • Self-starter/motivated team player
  • Perform secondary operations as required: Deburring, Assembly, Marking, etc.
  • Ability to make tool adjustments and changes
  • Good math skills, with the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals

Working Conditions

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel
  • Must be able to communicate verbally and have the ability to hear
  • The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and stoop or crouch
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds, at times up to 50 pounds
  • Personal protective equipment (e.g., safety glasses and safety shoes) is required on the shop floor
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, electrical equipment, acetone, alcohol, argon, braze alloys, nitrogen, hydrogen, oil-based lubricants and cleaning solutions
  • The employee is occasionally exposed to moderate cold and extreme heat
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually middling
