Machinist – 3-Day Workweek

About the role

Experienced CNC Mill and/or Lathe Machinist needed for a high‑mix, low‑volume job shop in Hobart, WI. You will set up and run your own jobs on a variety of parts, materials and setups, working independently on 2nd shift (Tuesday‑Thursday) with a compressed schedule that pays for 40 hours while you work 36 hours. You’ll operate Haas, Kitamura, Doosan and Trak equipment and enjoy a clean, organized, well‑maintained machining environment with a skilled team.

Responsibilities

• Setting up and operating CNC mills and/or lathes
• Selecting tooling and setting offsets
• Proving out programs and making edits at the machine
• Reading blueprints and GD&T
• Inspecting your own parts and holding tight tolerances
• Troubleshooting machining and tooling issues
• Making adjustments to improve quality and cycle times
• Working independently and taking ownership of your jobs

Requirements

• 3+ years of CNC machining experience
• Strong CNC mill and/or lathe setup experience
• Ability to set up and run jobs independently
• Experience making program edits at the machine
• Strong blueprint reading and GD&T skills
• Experience using inspection tools to verify your work
• Good troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills
• Experience working in a job shop or high‑mix environment is a plus
