Machinist 2nd shift

About the role
You will set up, gage, and run production on castings using CNC lathes or mills, including full tooling and fixturing setup, precision measurement, and machining operations to maintain tight tolerances. Candidates with limited experience but strong mechanical aptitude and the right attitude are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
- Handle full CNC setups to include tooling, work holding, fixturing, and loading programs
- Utilize CNC equipment, manual machines, overhead hoists, hand tools/power tools/air tools, and fractometer
- Use precision measuring gages (calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, gauge blocks, etc.) to check dimensions
- Read blueprints and understand GD&T
- Make offsets and minor edits to keep parts in tolerance
- Maintain proper coolant ratios and levels and perform autonomous maintenance tasks
- Perform operations necessary to face, turn, bore, chamfer, groove, thread, drill, tap, and deburr a variety of materials and parts
Requirements
- 3+ years of CNC Mill and Lathe setup and operation experience (preferred but not required)
- GD&T and print comprehension
- Understanding of shop math
- Ability to multi-task to keep production running smoothly
Physical Requirements
- Standing, walking, twisting at the waist
- Lifting and lowering weights up to 50 lbs
Schedule
2nd shift: 2:00 pm – 10:00 pm, Monday - Friday (Overtime available!)
8% shift differential for 2nd shift.
Pay
The hourly pay for this role is $28 to $30/hr, DOE, plus an 8% shift differential for 2nd shift. Opportunity for a rate increase after proficiency in certain skills and completion of training. A $1,000 hiring bonus is payable at $500 after 90 days and $500 after 6 months of employment, subject to repayment in full if employment terminates within one year of hire date.
