Machine Technician 1

About the role

Perform a variety of routine and technical production tasks following prescribed methods and procedures with little or no supervision. Provide guidance and training to lower skilled personnel. Maintain work, product and process flow for designated area.

Responsibilities

• Read and follow detailed instructions on routine tasks.
• Perform basic mathematical computations using decimals and fractions.
• Use a variety of precision measuring instruments and devices, such as micrometers, plug gages, dial indicators, hardness testers, air and electronic gages, electronic data collection equipment, etc.
• Visually inspect and measure parts being produced.
• Read and interpret drawings and blueprints.
• Demonstrate production skills and knowledge on product, equipment, processes, routines and procedures.
• Maintain a safe working area to ensure the safety of self and other team members, with ability to identify potential safety and environmental hazards and communicate immediately to Leaders.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent education.
• Ability to work independently with limited direct supervision.

Skills

• Legible penmanship and accurate completion of reports, charts, and other documents.
• Good organizational skills to maintain work area and set priorities according to daily production requirements.
• Good communication skills to effectively train lower skilled personnel and maintain information flow to supervision and across shifts.
