About the role

Woodward is hiring a skilled and motivated Machine Repair Technician to join our team at our Loves Park Campus on N. 2nd Street. This position works 1st shift (Mon-Fri 6am-2:30pm) with a rotating on-call schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular inspections and execute preventative maintenance on machinery following standard operating procedures.
  • Identify and troubleshoot straightforward machine malfunctions using established guidelines and diagnostic tools.
  • Carry out necessary repairs on equipment under close supervision, ensuring adherence to quality standards.
  • Accurately record all maintenance and repair tasks in maintenance logs and reports.
  • Communicate technical information and work effectively with team members to ensure optimal machine performance.

Skills

  • Technical Proficiency: Knowledge of basic machinery and equipment used in machine repair.
  • Diagnostic Skills: Ability to identify and diagnose simple mechanical issues using standard procedures.
  • Manual Dexterity: Proficient in using hand tools and operating machinery with precision.
  • Safety Compliance: Adheres to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensures repair work meets established quality standards and specifications.
  • Instruction Following: Accurately follows detailed repair instructions and standard operating procedures.
  • Basic Electrical Knowledge: Familiarity with basic electrical components and circuits commonly found in machinery.
  • Time Management: Efficiently manages time to complete routine repair tasks within designated timeframes.
  • Communication Skills: Communicates effectively with team members to relay technical information and updates.
  • Troubleshooting: Performs straightforward troubleshooting tasks to resolve minor machine malfunctions.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Associate’s degree in electronics, mechanical, or industrial discipline is preferred.
  • Experience in a machine repair role in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and diagnosing production machine errors and malfunctions.

This position requires use of information subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR). All applicants must be U.S. Persons (U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, asylee, or refugee) or eligible to obtain required authorizations.

Pay

  • Level 1: Estimated annual base pay: $20.67 (minimum) - $26.92 (midpoint) - $33.17 (maximum) plus overtime.
  • Level 2: Estimated annual base pay: $24.52 (minimum) - $31.73 (midpoint) - $39.42 (maximum) plus overtime.

Schedule

  • 1st shift: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM.
  • Rotating on-call schedule.
