Machine Operator - Second Shift

About the role
We are seeking a Machine Operator for second shift (Monday–Thursday, 4:15 PM to 2:45 AM) to accurately operate various production machines, including waterjet, gang drills, u-clip cutter, wave machine, shear, and punch press. This position supports KBC’s mission of being a forward-thinking, collaborative, and ethical business and is eligible for a 20% shift differential.
Responsibilities
- Accurately process parts following blueprints and other written and verbal specifications while meeting scheduled router hours.
- Set up, adjust, and efficiently operate machine tools to perform operations requiring close/exact tolerances on products with various dimensions and finish specifications.
- Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials into machines.
- Maintain and inspect cutting tools for sharpness and usability.
- Calculate and set controls and programming to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, and coolant flow.
- Start and observe machine operations to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance processing and adjust machine controls as required.
- Clean and maintain machine tooling and parts to ensure optimal production condition.
- Maintain and edit programs to fine-tune processes for optimum performance.
- Maintain a safe and clean work area and environment.
- Perform other duties as needed.

- Ability to read blueprints and plans.

- High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational training course completion preferred.
- Ability to set up and operate manual machine equipment.
- Ability to operate forklift and overhead crane, read measuring instruments, and maintain machinery and equipment in the machining trade.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally; anything over 50 pounds requires two people or a lifting device.
